When is a die cast heat sink preferred to an extruded heat sink?

Gravity die casting can suit wide, non-symmetrical or enclosure-integrated parts where an extruded profile would need substantial secondary machining or assembly. Conventional constant-section profiles often remain better suited to extrusion.

Can a heat sink include machined features?

Yes. Mounting faces, holes, bosses and component interfaces can be reviewed for machining. Tolerances and inspection requirements should be supplied with the enquiry.

What should I send for a quotation?

Please send a dimensioned drawing or 3D model, required quantity, alloy or performance requirements, target weight, machining details and application notes. Thermal validation remains the responsibility of the complete system designer unless separately agreed.
